Victor Osimhen: Newcastle United in fierce battle for Napoli star

Newcastle United, a Premier League team, is preparing an enormous offer for Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli.

La Gazzetta dello Sport, an Italian publication, reports that Newcastle will make a “significant sum” of money to sign Osimhen, who is reportedly a target for Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Magpies have the funds to splash out on an expensive new striker and are eager to strengthen their attack in preparation for the upcoming season.

Newcastle is tempted to make the Nigerian a sizable offer, but the player is not overly interested in moving to St. James’ Park.

He would prefer to stay at Napoli and play in the Champions League for the time being given the inaction of Arsenal and United regarding a transfer.

Osimhen was also pursued by Newcastle in January.
