Premier League side Fulham have entered the race to sign Ajax defender Calvin Bassey.
The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has revealed that Fulham have made a 15 million pounds offer to Ajax for his services.
The Dutch league side are yet to respond to the offer, according to the report.
The Cottagers want to bolster their defensive options ahead of the new campaign as they conceded 53 goals last season in the Premier League which is the second-highest among teams that finished in the top half of the table.
The addition of Bassey will also make up for the void in Fulham’s homegrown slots that might be caused by the potential departure of Tosin Adarabioyo as he qualifies as a Premier League homegrown player having spent his formative years with Leicester City.
The 23-year-old struggled in his first season in the Eredivisie and has continuously received backlash for his unconvincing performances which explains why he is already being linked with an exit from Ajax just after a year of his arrival at the club.
He has also been linked with a move to Brighton as a replacement for Levi Colwill who has returned to Chelsea after the end of his loan spell.
