According to Fabrizio Romano, Ajax and Manchester United have agreed in principle, and Antony will sign his contract with the club on Monday (today).
Intending to reunite Antony with Erik ten Hag, Manchester United has been pursuing him for the majority of the summer. The Brazilian winger has been their top priority as they look to add more attacking reinforcements.
Ajax has been reluctant to give up Antony after already selling Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United earlier in the transfer window. They have maintained their position regarding his valuation by turning down some Red Devils’ offers.
However, there have been encouraging signs in recent hours, and a resolution is now in view. The two clubs have an agreement in principle for Antony to join Manchester United, claims transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Ten Hag’s team will meet the 22-year-asking old’s price of €100 million, or roughly £ 85 million. He will thus rank second in terms of cost among all Manchester United signings, just behind Paul Pogba.
According to Romano, Antony will sign his contract with Manchester United on Monday. With the option to continue into 2028, the agreement will last until 2027.
After making a record-breaking transfer from the Eredivisie, Antony will fly into Manchester next week to join Ten Hag’s team.
He will be the fifth player to join Manchester United this summer, joining Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia, and Martinez. Compared to the other newcomers, Antony will have received more money from them.
