The transfer of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich to Barcelona will take place this summer for the sum of €50 million, according to recent reports.
Reputable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the standoff between Barcelona and Bayern Munich has been resolved with the two clubs coming to an agreement regarding the transfer of Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern could receive an additional €5 million on top of the €45 million base fee that the Blaugrana will pay.
The Robert Lewandowski transfer saga has dragged on for months, and it appeared as though the player’s parent club and the Bundesliga champions’ public stance would prevent a resolution. Due to Bayern’s reluctance to part ways with the Polish striker and the asking price, Bayern and Barcelona were at a standstill at the same time.
Lewandowski has been adamant that his time at the Allianz Arena was over, despite having a stellar 344 goals and 72 assists in 374 appearances for Bayern Munich. The 33-year-old has been interested in moving to Barcelona for a while, even though he attended preseason training like a model professional.
Barcelona made several offers, but Bayern Munich turned them all down. Barcelona had to wait until the economic levers were pulled before stepping up its pursuit of Lewandowski. The Catalan giants appear to have the purchasing power to make extravagant offers for their top targets, despite the fact that Financial Fair Play issues are holding them back.
