Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has accepted personal terms with Real Madrid ahead of his anticipated sensational move.
According to The Athletic, the 23-year-old has not signed paperwork with the Spanish giants, and Paris Saint-Germain is still attempting to persuade him to change his mind.
If the acquisition goes through, it will be one of the most high-profile transactions in history.
Mbappe has been the subject of heated transfer rumours for some time, with his current contract expiring at the conclusion of the season.
He is free to join Real Madrid in the summer, but the superstar forward is expected to want a hefty signing-on fee.
Mbappe stated at the French players’ union ceremony on Sunday, when he won the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award, that a decision on his future will be known before he joins the national squad for the Nations League matches in June.
“I can’t say about my future but you’ll know very soon… it’s almost decided,” he said.
“This isn’t the right moment but yes, yes… my decision is almost done.”
Mbappe has been with PSG since 2017, after joining from AS Monaco.
He’s been highly productive at Paris, scoring an astounding 168 goals throughout his tenure there.
He has 36 goals in 45 appearances this season across all competitions.
