By Sunny Green ItodoMarch 29, 2022
    Match Preview Nigeria vs Ghana

Nigeria and Ghana will renew their rivalry in the second leg of their FIFA World Cup qualifiers after the first leg of the Jallof derby ended in stalemate in Kamusi on Friday. The West African arch rivals continue their battle for one of Africa’s five spots at the mundial as they face off at the MkO Abiola Stadium, Abuja today (Tuesday, March 29, 2022).

Ghana and Nigeria have played each other 57 times with the Black Stars having upper hand.

    Team News

Nigeria head coach, Austine Eguavoen, is expected to make few chances in the starting 11 with winger Samuel Chukwueze likely to be replaced by Emmanuel Dennis after picking up a hamstring injury at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday.

The Villarreal man also missed the Eagles’ training on Sunday.

Innocent Bonke is also a doubt for the second leg tie and likely to be replaced by Peter Etebo in the starting 11.

Meanwhile, Ghana will be boosted by the return of veteran forward and skipper Andre Ayew, who is now available for selection after missing the first leg through suspension.

We expect the 32-year-old to immediately return to the XI, starting alongside brother Jordan Ayew and Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan at the attacking end of the pitch.

    Nigeria’s possible starting lineup:
Uzoho, Aina, Troost-Ekong, Balogun, Sanusi, Onyeka, Aribo, Simon, Iheanacho, Dennis and Osimhen.

    Ghana’s possible starting lineup:
Wollacott, Mensah, Amartey, Djiku, Odoi, Partey, Baba, Kudus, J Ayew, Afena-Gyan and A. Ayew.

    Kickoff time: 6pm (Nigerian time)
