Real Madrid will be without Karim Benzema again when they face Girona on Sunday, and Rodrygo is also a doubt.
The Ballon d’Or winner trained on Friday, but is still suffering from muscle fatigue in his left leg.
Ancelotti, the head coach of Los Blancos, stated on Saturday that his star striker had passed all of his tests.
However, Madrid will not gamble with the France international’s fitness, and striker Rodrygo may also miss the LaLiga match against Girona at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ancelotti on Benzema’s fitness
“Yesterday he trained, after that he wasn’t feeling very well. We had some tests and everything was fine, but we just want to be careful.
“The tests were quite positive, there was no problem at all, but he isn’t feeling 100 per cent, so we are going to remain calm with him,” Ancelotti said on Benzema’s fitness.
What happened with Rodrygo?
Rodrygo did not train on Saturday owing to an unknown injury, and his fitness will be evaluated on game day.
For the league leaders, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde, and Dani Ceballos are expected to return.
Ancelotti anticipates a response from his players after Real Madrid was defeated 3-2 by RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday.
