Former Tottenham star Darren Bent has said that Arsenal should have signed Chelsea’s outcast Romelu Lukaku this summer.
According to him, the Belgian should been the right back up to Gabriel Jesus who is now injured again.
The Brazilian forward will not start the season with the Gunners as he recovers from surgery on a knee injury.
Mikel Arteta’s side are now looking to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as they seek extra firepower.
But Bent, who is a diehard Arsenal supporter despite being a former Tottenham player, sees Lukaku as another quality option on the market.
“It would be nice to get a 20 season goal scorer, but who is out there?” He told talkSPORT.
“But I even said for a year, if it was an option, I would have taken Lukaku.
“I know a lot of Arsenal fans are probably thinking, ‘Absolutely not’, but I think I would.
“He’s a battering ram. A little bit like when Giroud was at Arsenal.”
