Manchester United’s highest earner Marcus Rashford has revealed how the club’s legend Wayne Rooney is backing him to break his goal record at Old Trafford.
Rooney, a former England striker, holds the record as the Man United all-time scorers.
The DC United boss has 253 in his basket for the Red Devils.
But Rashford, 25, who recently signed a new 5-year contract, looks in a good position to one day overhaul Rooney’s tally.
The England International has scored 123 already as he chases Rooney’s record.
Speaking with Red Devils’ legend Gary Neville on the Overlap, Rashford said, “Hopefully I will” surpass Rooney’s goal record.
“There’s definitely a chance that it can happen.
“I’ve actually spoken to Wazza[Rooney] about it – he wants me to do it.”
