Tottenham Hotspurs are preparing for a team overhaul, with nearly eight players expected to depart. Head coach Antonio Conte and director of football Fabio Paratici are attempting to assemble a competitive squad for the next season.
Conte has been critical of the club’s players and is thought to be willing to sever ties with a handful of them. Rumours about his future have also persisted, with Paris Saint-Germain interested in hiring him as head coach.
Conte is preparing for crucial discussions with Daniel Levy at the end of the season, according to reports. If he wants to stay at the club, the Italian manager will require new players.
According to the Mirror, Steven Bergwijn and Tanguy Ndombele are among the players scheduled to be sold this summer. Bergwijn has struggled to get playing time after joining the club from PSV Eindhoven.
Conte is also thought to be looking for new defenders, with Colombian Davinson Sanchez poised to leave Tottenham after five years. Sanchez has taken a back seat to the likes of Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, and Eric Dier.
Spurs will also consider selling Sergio Regullion, Lucas Moura, and Matt Doherty to generate finances. They have been in and out of Conte’s team, but they could be sold to make room for new arrivals.
Other players who will be looking for new opportunities include Harry Winks and Joe Rodon. This season, the pair hasn’t seen much action at the Spurs and may search for it elsewhere.
