Hours after UCL defeat Pep Guardiola nominated for prestigious award

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has been nominated for the best Premier League manager award for April, only hours after his team was eliminated from the Champions League.

The former Barcelona coach led his men to the Santiago Bernabeu with the intention of defeating Real Madrid, but they were defeated 3-1 by Rodrygo and Karim Benzema.

Manchester City played five Premier League games in April and was undefeated in all of them, allowing them to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

According to the Man City website, the Citizens overcame Watford, Leeds United, Burnley, Brighton, and drew 2-2 with Liverpool in April.

Following their fail from the UEFA Champions League, Manchester City will want to focus on their campaign for the Premier League championship, even though they are in a close race with Liverpool.

Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, and Burnley interim manager Mike Jackson are the other coaches nominated for the Premier League’s best coach award in April.
