Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernández has hailed Marc-Andre Ter-Stegen and Luuk de Jong for their effort in his side’s La Liga win against Levante on Sunday.
Barcelona recorded an away victory against Levante with the game ending 3-2.
Goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Pedri, and Luuk de Jong ensured Barcelona defeated Levante 3-2.
Xavi was quoted by Marca as saying at a post-match conference, “The first half hasn’t been good at all. The team seemed mentally and physically fatigued. Playing on Thursday still weighed us down. In the second half, we were much better.
“One of the keys is Marc’s save and another is Luuk’s goal. These are the details that ultimately count. That’s why we have a great goalkeeper and a great striker. They have made a great effort.”
On the opposition, he said, “Levante don’t deserve to be in the relegation zone because they are playing well. They beat Villarreal and Atlético.”
Xavi also hailed his team’s improvement, just as he revealed that there is still work to be done.
“We have to improve our game but we’re competing very well, it’s a matter of winning mentality and believing until the end. We are showing that we are ready to compete even when we don’t have a good game, I am very happy for the players,” he said.
