Coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, has given reasons the team failed to fly against the Lakuena of Lesotho in Uyo on Thursday.
The Super Eagles had to come from behind to fight to get a draw against the lowly rated Leslie Notsi side at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The Portuguese coach blamed bad luck for the poor result and noted that his team fought hard but was clinical in front of goal.
“The team created chances, Boniface, Taiwo, Kelechi, all our places were awesome,” he told his post match press conference.
“What I will do is to speak with players about concentration and poor finishing…sometimes you score a lot.
“The team tried to score goals but no tranquility. Of course a draw with Lesotho is not good for us but the team fought.
“We lost many chances. We didn’t prepare well and the players didn’t rest well. Some players came on Monday and some Tuesday. The players fought but they refused to go in. It was bad luck for us.”
