Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has urged fans not to “lose sleep” over the club’s Premier League third-place result.
As the 2021/22 season approaches its conclusion, the Blues are likely to finish third behind Manchester City and Liverpool.
They will, however, finish the season trailing the two English heavyweights by a large margin in terms of points earned.
The West Londoners were tipped to fight for the Premier League championship earlier in the season. Tuchel’s side were among the early pacesetters, topping the standings by December before everything went apart in the middle of the season, allowing Liverpool and City to draw away in the championship fight.
Tuchel has already sought to assuage Chelsea fans’ fears, pledging to assist the team in getting back on track next season.
However, the German strategist was quick to recognize that his opponents will have an advantage, especially because the Blues’ ownership difficulties have yet to be resolved.
Tuchel was cited in the Daily Mail as stating, “What I can promise is that I will be here – if I can promise that – and I will be here with full energy and positive energy no matter what.”
