Barcelona manager Xavi has confirmed that the club has reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for Antoine Griezmann’s permanent transfer.
Griezmann joined Atletico on loan last year, with a €40 million buyout clause if he played a certain percentage of minutes, which Los Rojiblancos have avoided by keeping the Frenchman on the bench.
Barcelona agreed to negotiate the terms of the deal with Atletico, and sources have confirmed that the Madrid side have now agreed to a future transfer worth around €20 million.
When asked about the agreement at a press conference on Saturday, Xavi said: “The club tells me that they have reached an agreement, but it is not official. If there is an agreement, it means that all parties are happy.
“I wish the player the best.”
