Manchester United boss ten Hag has revealed the reasons behind the club’s decision to choose Rasmus Hojlund above other strikers.
Rasmus joined the Red Devils from Atalanta on Friday and was presented to supporters at the Theatre of Dreams Saturday.
The 20-year-old completed a £62million move from the Italian Serie A side to the Theatre of Dreams.
Marcus Rashford will continue playing as a striker as Hojlund is weeks away from match fitness following his injury.
Ten Hag described Hojlund as a traditional centre forward who is hungry and so determined to score goals
“He is a real front man,” said Ten Hag told MUTV about the Denmark international.
“Very direct through the goal. Very good presser. Physical presence. In the balance of this squad, we needed that.
“I think he [Hojlund] has such a huge potential…
“The player has to prove it.
“We need hungry players and he [Hojlund] is a player who is so determined to score goals and win games and trophies.”
