Hugo Ekitike, a striker from Reims, is close to joining Paris Saint-Germain.
The agreement, which includes a €35 million fee plus add-ons, is conditional on Ekitike passing a medical and agreeing to personal terms.
Newcastle came close to signing him in both the current and January transfer windows, but finalising a deal proved difficult.
The move could affect Gianluca Scamacca’s future at PSG, as the striker has been linked with a move to West Ham.
West Ham have made a €40 million bid for Sassuolo striker Scamacca, according to Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali.
PSG has also made an offer of €35 million plus add-ons. West Ham is awaiting a response from the Italian club, which is thought to be worth €50 million.
Carnevali claims that they are under no obligation to sell and that no agreement has been reached with any club.
Even though Scamacca hopes to one day play alongside the likes of Mbappe, Messi, and Neymar, his top priority right now is to secure regular playing time.
