Manchester City want to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in the remaining few days of the transfer window.
The Cityzens have shifted their attention to the Crystal Palace attacking midfielder after a move for West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta broke down.
The Premier League and Champions League champions are considering other options as they look for back-up to the injured Kevin De Bruyne.
The Daily Mail claim Eze is another of their targets having sent senior scouts to watch him over the last six months.
It is reported they have come back with glowing reports on the 25-year-old and the club could be set to make an official bid.
City were ready to spend £85million to land Paqueta from West Ham before the deal collapsed.
It is suggested Crystal Palace value England international Eze at around £70m, with two years remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles have already managed to keep hold of one of their key stars this summer, with Michael Olise rejecting interest from Chelsea to pen a new four-year deal.
It remains to be seen whether or not Palace can convince Eze to stay, too, with manager Roy Hodgson surely keen to keep hold of the attacking talent having lost Wilfried Zaha at the start of the summer.
