Chelsea could make a shock move to sign Paulo Dybala from AS Roma with manager Mauricio Pochettino keen to trigger his compatriot’s release clause.
The Blues want to bring in the Argentine to help out in the attack that already has the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku joining this summer.
The west London club are now focusing on bringing in a new defensive midfielder with Brighton’s Moises Caicedo their top target as well as reducing their bloated squad.
However, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Pochettino feels Dybala would be the ideal accompaniment to bring additional firepower to his Chelsea attack next season and is keen for the west London club to explore a deal for him.
Although Dybala would command a big salary, a release clause in his contract with Roma means clubs outside of Serie A can sign him for just €12million.
Chelsea have allowed a host of their first team players leave the club this summer as they look to rebuild and improve on a very poor outing last season.
