Leandro Trossard, a star for Brighton & Hove Albion, has denied having contact with Chelsea despite rumors linking him to the Blues.
Trossard has been in outstanding form this year; his seven Premier League goals have helped Brighton move up to sixth place in the standings.
Graham Potter, a former manager at Brighton, is eager for a reunion at Stamford Bridge, and former Seagulls director Dan Ashworth wants Trossard at Newcastle.
Trossard told HLN in an interview that he hasn’t spoken to the west London club about a potential transfer.
“Chelsea have in any case not yet reported. Not with Brighton and not with me. I have to wait and see. I want to finish strong at Brighton and leave for Qatar with that good feeling,” he said.
The Belgian has previously made comments about the possibility of joining Chelsea to rejoin Potter. Earlier this year, Trossard spoke with Het Nieuwsblad and said the following: “Our coach did leave for Chelsea now but speculation about me following him makes no sense.
“If the opportunity arises, I want to go. But I want to play and not sit on the bench.”
