Arsenal have announced the departure of their striker, Folarin Balogun.
The striker has joined Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in a permanent transfer.
Balogun, now 22, joined Arsenal at the age of 10 and developed through the club’s academy.
He signed his first professional contract with the club in February 2019.
Folarin made his senior debut for the Gunners when he came on as a substitute in their 3-0 home win against Dundalk in the UEFA Europa League in October 2020.
Balogun scored his first senior goal for the club, just under a month later in a 3-0 away win in Norway against Molde.
In January 2022, Balogun joined Championship side Middlesbrough on loan for the second half of the 2021/22 campaign.
He was sent on loan again last season, joining Ligue 1 side Reims.
There he finished joint fourth in the French league’s goalscoring charts with 21 strikes from his 37 appearances.
“We thank Folarin for his contribution to Arsenal and wish him the best of health and happiness in his new chapter at Monaco,” the club’s statement said.
The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
