Rashford and Martial return to training ahead of Manchester derby

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have returned to training ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

Martial has only played 45 minutes in all competitions since his return from a loan at Sevilla due to hamstring and Achilles problems, but he was crucial in helping Rashford score the game-winning goal against Liverpool last month.

Rashford, on the other hand, had a fantastic month of September, recording two goals, two assists, and winning Premier League Player of the Month. However, he experienced a muscle issue in United’s most recent domestic match, missed two Europa League games, and was unable to serve his country.

Rashford and Martial’s eligibility to face Manchester City was in question on Thursday, when The Times reported that neither had fully participated in training. But when Ten Hag spoke to the media on Friday, he had a positive message to share.

“Anthony Martial has been training with the group all week, really happy with that situation. Marcus Rashford also joined training, so we are happy with that,” the United boss revealed.
