Rapper Drake stakes $1 million in favor of Lionel Messi’s Argentina ahead of France World Cup clash

If Lionel Messi’s Argentina defeats France to win the World Cup on Sunday in Doha, Drake will earn $2.75 million.

The well-known musician bet an astounding $1 million on Argentina to win the World Cup. He will make a ton of money if Argentina are successful in defeating the reigning champions France.

Drake has made significant wagers on football before. He bet $600,000 on Barcelona winning the El Clasico and on Arsenal defeating Leeds United in the Premier League in October. He was not let down by the Gunners, but the Catalan giants were defeated 3-1 by their rivals.

Given the infamous “Drake Curse,” La Albiceleste may be concerned about Canadian wagering on the World Cup final. Teams and individuals frequently experience bad luck after becoming associated in any way with rappers and music producers. Drake seems to bring bad luck to any athletes he hangs out with.

On Sunday, defending champions France will try to make it two straight years without losing the World Cup, while Lionel Scaloni’s team will aim to break a 36-year trophy drought.
