Sierra Leone’s Leone Stars will arrive in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, today for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Super Eagles.
The players and their entourage will leave Conakry for Lome, then Abuja.
The team will be met at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja this afternoon by Deputy High Commissioner Anna Betty Moussa and other diplomatic employees.
For the game and the matchday two match against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau, head coach John Keister has called up 25 players.
The Leone Stars began their preparations for the encounter in Conakry midweek and will have another four days to finalize their strategies before the vital match.
The Super Eagles will face Sierra Leone at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Thursday.
The Super Eagles were pushed to a 4-4 tie by Keister’s side the last time the two teams met in November 2020 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
