NFF prepare to sack Gernot Rohr due to poor performance

Report has it that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, will not give Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr a contract renewal even if he wins the AFCON tournament in Egypt.

Unimpressed by the German’s tactical approach, NFF have asked lawyers to look into his contract details as a step towards terminating it at the end of the tournament.

NFF is also not pleased with the way he allegedly fueled the match bonus crisis in the team and how, despite being settled, they failed to put up a good performance.

“Since Nigeria qualified for AFCON, our attackers have been clay-footed with the manager unable to evolve a system that will optimise the potential of the team’s strikers, who do well with the European clubs and in the Diaspora.

“We have given Rohr a free-hand to run the team. He picked his players for this competition unhindered. We had a few reservations about the choice of certain players. But we allowed him to go with all the technical issues, especially with the choice of players,” an NFF chieftain said.
