Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) stars, Neymar, Angel Di Maria, and Leandro Paredes have all tested positive for COVID-19.
The Ligue 1 champions verified via their official page that three of their players tested positive to the virus but did not name the players involved.
However, Neymar, Angel Di Maria, and Leandro Paredes are believed to be the three players who have tested positive, as reported by French outlet, L’Equipe.
The club statement read:
‘Three PSG-English players are confirmed positive after a Sars CoV2 test and have undergone the appropriate health protocols,’
‘All players and staff will continue to be tested over the next few days.’
All three players will now spend time in quarantine and may likely miss the first PSG fixture of the new season against Lens on September 10.
The Parisians picked up a third successive league title in April after the French football authorities decided to cancel the season.
Tuchel’s side was 12 points clear of second-placed Marseille with a game in hand when Ligue 1 scrapped all remaining fixtures but will be playing catch-up when they finally return to domestic action.
