LIVE: Morocco vs Nigeria: Lionesses equalise against Super Falcons

Monday night’s semi-final match of the 12th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations competition in Rabat saw Morocco draw with Nigeria.

In the 66th minute, the hosts tied the score.

Nigeria had already taken the lead thanks to a goal from Uchenna Kanu in the 62nd minute.

Despite Nigeria having 10 players left after Halimatu Ayinde was sent off, the score is now 1-1.

In the 48th minute, a VAR review led to her dismissal.

Going by the FIFA rankings, the Super Falcons are number one in Africa and 39th in the world while Morocco are 8th in Africa and 77th in the world.

In the opening match of the inaugural edition of the Women AFCON, hosted by Nigeria, the Super Falcons lashed the Lionesses 8-0.

Meanwhile, following a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Copper Queens of Zambia on Monday in the semifinal of the WAFCON 2022, Banyana Banyana of South Africa has advanced to the championship match.

After extensive discussion with VAR, the South Africans were given a penalty for a foul on a Banyana Banyana player, sending the game into overtime after six minutes of added time.

And Linda Motlhalo made the penalty kick to advance South Africa to their fifth WAFCON in their final match.
