Juventus legend Giorgio Chiellini has said that teams in Major League Soccer must do better to stop Lionel Messi.
The Argentine has been firing from all cylinders for Inter Miami since joining the MLS side from Paris Saint-Germain.
Chiellini, who faced the Argentine on multiple occasions in the UEFA Champions League, said he is not surprised by Messi’s dream start to life in America
The former Barcelona captain has scored three goals and made an assist in two games.
He told AS USA, “I was not surprised. The problem is that maybe this league is surprising.
“I think they [MLS teams] have to do something better to try to contain Messi.
“If you think that Messi is a normal player, it’s a huge mistake. It means you haven’t seen him for the last fifteen years.
“If Sergio (Busquets) has the ball and you don’t mark Messi … maybe you don’t have a TV at home.”
