Super Eagles’ Maduka Okoye is committed to helping Watford return to the Premier League in the coming season.
After finishing 19th in the standings the previous season, the Hornets were demoted from the Premier League.
Due to the retention of some of its key players, the London club is well-positioned to compete in the Sky Bet Championship.
Following the departure of former first choice Ben Forster, Okoye is anticipated to take over as the club’s starting goalkeeper.
The 22-year-old said that helping Watford get back into the top division is his main goal.
“I think in every player’s head is going back up to the Premier League,” Okoye was quoted by the Watford Observer.
“It’s important to have ambition.
“On a personal level, I just want to help fulfil that ambition for the other players and the club. The more playing time the better, but most of all I want to see myself grow as a person and a goalkeeper.”
