Ibrahim Adel, a winger from Egypt who is being dubbed “the next Mohamed Salah,” is attracting the attention of Liverpool.
The 21-year-old is currently playing for Egyptian club Pyramids, but since making his senior team debut over a year ago, a transfer to Europe has been heavily rumoured.
Numerous clubs in Europe have been keeping tabs on his development, and many think he’s the most promising prospect Egypt has produced since Salah.
Salah is thought to have personally ensured that Adel’s talent was well known to his Liverpool managers.
Adel was the subject of a bid from Danish outfit FC Nordsjaelland over the summer. They attempted to purchase him with a £2 million offer, but it fell far short of Pyramids’ estimated value, which is thought to be at least £5 million plus add-ons.
Pyramids have since signed Adel to a new long-term contract, but it is believed that a January move is being considered by several clubs, including Liverpool.
Arsenal, Brentford, Brighton, and Nottingham Forest are a few of the clubs that have recently kept an eye on Adel. Liverpool are not, however, Adel’s only suitor in England.
It is expected that the interested parties will look to sign Adel in January before loaning him out to another club in Europe until he qualifies for a work permit to play in the UK.
Adel participated in the Egypt team that placed second in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and also represented Egypt at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
