Rafaela Pimenta, Erling Haaland’s agent, has talked about the possibility of her client signing a new contract and has also placed a high value on him.
Pimenta said Haaland might enter into a new contract, disclosed nothing about the release clause and asserts that the forward may be worth $1 billion.
Despite only joining the club this summer, Haaland’s new agent has stated the Norwegian may be open to re-signing with City. She also didn’t reveal much about a potential release provision in the 22-year-old’s contract that would let him depart the team in 2024.
When questioned by Sky Sports if Haaland would be interested in a new contract, Pimenta said: “I hope so, if they want to discuss today we would be happy. Why not? All is good.”
A question about a release clause, or the lack thereof, that might allow Haaland to quit the team after just two years, was also dismissed by her. Pimenta said: “The good and bad of being a lawyer is that you know what you can and cannot say. You do not need someone poking you going: ‘don’t say this.’ I cannot talk about.”
The £51 million transfer fee of Haaland may seem insignificant in light of Pimenta’s estimation of his potential value. She predicted that the Norwegian talisman may one day be worth £1 billion.
“That is what I think because if you put together his football value, his image value, his sponsor value it is for sure £1bn,” she added.
By his standards, Haaland is going through a rather dry patch; he hasn’t scored in a game. When City plays home to Brighton on Saturday, he will be looking to add to his 15 Premier League goals.
