Djamel Belmadi, the head coach of the Algerian Desert Foxes, is eager for his team’s upcoming friendly matchup with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
In addition, Belmadi vowed to play the three-time African champions with his best lineup.
On Friday night, the Desert Foxes defeated Guinea 1-0, with the coach starting some of his key players on the bench.
12 minutes before the end, seasoned forward Islam Slimani scored the winning goal.
“We took a lot of positives from the Guinea game, but Nigeria is a different game,” Belmadi told reporters.
“I will play with players who are used to playing with each other.”
The Super Eagles and the two-time African champions will play each other on Tuesday at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran.
In other news, Lionel Messi has made another record after leading Argentina to victory against Honduras.
Argentina defeated Honduras 3-0 with ease thanks to two goals from Lionel Messi, extending their unbeaten streak to 34 games. With that, Messi becomes Argentina’s all-time leading goalscorer netting 88 goals in 163 appearances
For the first goal, the 35-year-old was in the thick of things, lobbing the ball over the defense to Papu Gomez, who then gave Lautaro Martinez a tap-in.
Argentina’s goal total was doubled by Messi thanks to a coolly executed penalty.
