Finidi George, the Super Eagles’ assistant coach, is pleased with the team’s strong start under the new technical staff.
Despite losing to Mexico and Ecuador in their friendlies, the Super Eagles put on strong performances.
However, the three-time African champions got the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying process off to a strong start.
On matchday one, Jose Peseiro’s team defeated the Sierra Leonean Leone Stars 2-1, and in their subsequent match, they destroyed Sao Tome and Principe 10-0.
A grateful Finidi expressed his gratitude and prayed for better days on social media.
“What a great opportunity and great start for the new Super Eagles. I pray for better days ahead on my new appointment as assistant coach,” Finidi wrote on his Facebook page.
In September, the Super Eagles will make their comeback with a double-header against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau.
