The Football Association will not punish Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira for seeming to kick at an Everton fan during an on-pitch altercation.

Last week, the manager was caught in a tidal wave of Everton fans who stormed the pitch after the club beat Palace 3-2, ensuring their Premier League status for another season.

Palace led 2-0 at halftime, but they were unable to prevent the hosts’ stunning second-half comeback.

During the celebrations, Vieira was repeatedly prodded by a fan who was filming the incident, until the Frenchman turned around and attempted to grab the fan, kicking him in the face.

After reviewing the incident, Merseyside Police announced last week that they had concluded their investigation because no formal complaint had been filed, and the FA is understood to be happy to take no formal action against Vieira.
