LIVE: Eintracht Frankfurt against Rangers….
The wait is finally over as Eintracht Frankfurt takes on Rangers in the Europa League final in Seville tonight.
After 120 minutes, Joe Aribo’s opener has been cancelled out by Rafael Borre’s equalizer, sending the game into extra time. In the additional 30 minutes, neither team was able to seize the lead, forcing the game to go to penalties.
The Scottish team has had an incredible run, defeating Borussia Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade, Braga, and RB Leipzig on their route to their first European final in 14 years.
Rangers have been encouraged by the raucous Ibrox atmospheres, but they must deliver in Spain if they are to capture the title. They will, however, have plenty of cheering fans in the stands.
Frankfurt is vying for their second European championship after winning the UEFA Cup in 1980. The German team, which finished in the bottom half of the Bundesliga, defeated West Ham in the previous round to earn a spot in tonight’s climax.
