British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, has called on Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to bring in a striker next year.
Morgan, who is a fan of the Premier League club, stated this in a tweet after they lost 2-0 to West Ham on Thursday night.
He wrote: “For the 1000th time, we need a striker.”
Kemi Filani report that Mikel Arteta’s men knew that only victory would take them above Liverpool, who won 2-0 at Burnley on Boxing Day.
However, Tomas Soucek gave the visitors the lead with controversial first-half strike.
Soucek tapped home from close range on 13 minutes from Jarrod Bowen’s cross from the byline.
VAR took a long look at whether the ball had gone out of play from the assist.
Then Dinos Mavropanos’ header on his return to his former club earned West Ham a 2-0 London derby win.
With Arsenal’s frustrating growing after Bukayo Saka hit the post and Gabriel Jesus missed two big chances to bring the Gunners back into the contest, Declan Rice conceded a rash penalty against his former side for a foul on Emerson.
But David Raya was equal to Said Benrahma’s penalty in the last act of the game.
