Chelsea’s manager Mauricio Pochettino has told the club to sign Real Madrid’s Nacho Fernandez as Cesar Azpilicueta’s replacement in the summer.
Blues captain Azplicueta, 33, is in the twilight of his career and Reece James, who was supposed to be perfect replacement for the Spaniard, has turned out to be a very injury-prone player.
Chelsea want to rebuild their team next season under Pochettino, having suffered a disastrous campaign this term and adding a right-back to the team could be a smart idea.
According to OK Diario, the new Argentine boss has turned his attention towards Nacho, who is a true veteran in his position.
The Spaniard is currently in the final stage of his contract at Real Madrid and is yet to pen an extension, meaning he could leave for free.
Nacho made his first team debut for Los Blancos in 2012 and has gone on to make 318 appearances.
