Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has hailed the qualities of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland ahead of Sunday’s game.
According to him, Haaland “is barely offside” and has “sensational awareness”.
The Reds host City, knowing that defeat all but rules them out of the title race.
Klopp also knows to get anything from the game, his team has to stop Haaland who already has 20 goals.
“Salzburg, we played them. He was very young, younger than now but you could see the potential. I don’t think he started against us, it think he was injured and came on.
“We were already busy thinking of him and how can you close him down. He scored anyway! Physically, he sets new standards. The combination of him being really physical, technical and having sensational awareness. His orientation on the pitch, he’s barely offside and reads that really well.
“So many good things make him a striker. Some of the best players around him in the world in setting up goal and finding up a pass. De Bruyne, Gundgoan, Foden, Mahrez. That’s a perfect fit, no doubt about it.”
