Ronaldo, 37, was used as a substitute once more in a Premier League match, but this time he entered the game after 28 minutes to replace the injured Anthony Martial.
The decisive win for United snaps Everton’s winning streak of six games.
After defeating Everton, Manchester United has moved up to fifth place in the Premier League standings.
United has a game in hand but is nine points behind table-toppers Arsenal.
Everton, on the other hand, are currently 12th in the English Premier League, four points clear of the drop zone.
