Chelsea have confirmed that forward Christopher Nkunku is “out for an extended period” after suffering a knee injury.
Nkunku only arrived this summer from RB Leipzig earlier this summer and has undergone surgery.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is now left with Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja as his striker options.
A Chelsea statement read: “Nkunku has sustained a knee injury which will rule the forward out for an extended period.
“The 25-year-old has undergone an operation and will now begin a rehabilitation programme with the club’s medical department.”
