Inter Milan boss Simeone Inzaghi has blamed bad luck for his team’s defeat to Manchester City in the final of the UEFA Champions League on Saturday.
The Italian bemoaned his team’s inability to find the back of the net despite several good opportunities that came their way.
Inter Milan ended up losing 1-0 to Pep Guardiola’s side in the Champions League final played in Turkey on Saturday.
Rodri’s second half effort was all the Premier League champions needed to lift their first ever Champions League trophy.
Speaking at his post-match press briefing, the former Lazio player said, “This is football, it’s from these disappointments that you grow. I’m still wondering how it’s possible that we didn’t score at the end. We clearly deserved more.
“This final could be the fuel to try again next season. The team demonstrated they can play at this level.
“We had plenty of chances at the end, we deserved more. This was our gameplan and we could have done even better,” Inzaghi was quoted by BT Sport.
