Benjamin Sesko, a striker for RB Salzburg, is reportedly being watched by Manchester United.
Manchester United has been considering finding a new center-forward recently. Edinson Cavani left the club at the end of last season when his contract expired. In addition, there are concerns about whether Cristiano Ronaldo will continue to play for them without Champions League competition.
The team will eventually need to consider the long term, even if Ronaldo stays. They will therefore be keeping their options open for younger striker replacements.
One player they are keeping an eye on, according to Fabrizio Romano, is Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenian international, who had previously been developing with RB Salzburg’s feeder team FC Liefering, finished his first full season with them in 2021–2022.
Sesko scored 11 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions the previous season. The 2022–23 Austrian season is already under way, and the 19-year-old has scored goals in both of his first two outings.
Sesko has made a name for himself in the future and is now being watched by several clubs in leagues other than the Austrian Bundesliga. He has established connections with teams like Newcastle, Tottenham, and Liverpool in the Premier League, for instance.
Romano claims that Manchester United is now vying for Sesko’s services as well. Although they are allegedly “well informed” about him, there is no kind of advance arrangement.
Romano reiterates that Newcastle is also closely monitoring Sesko.
