    Steven Gerrard makes two changes for Aston Villa from the 11 that began the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest as Leon Bailey and Danny Ings come in for Emiliano Buendia and Philippe Coutinho.

    Aston Villa XI: Martinez, Young, Mings, Konsa, Cash, McGinn, Luiz, Ramsey, Bailey, Ings, Watkins.

    Subs: Olsen, Chambers, Bednarek, Sanson, Nakamba, Dendoncker, Bogarde, Buendia, Coutinho.

    It is three changes for Graham Potter from the Chelsea side that began the vital 2-0 Champions League win against AC Milan on Tuesday.

    Full-back Reece James will be out for at least eight weeks after sustaining a knee injury in that game in Italy and will miss the World Cup as a result and he is replaced in the Blues’ side by Marc Cucurella.

    Elsewhere, Jorginho and Kalidou Koulibaly drop to the bench with starts for Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kai Havertz.

    Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Cucurella, Silva, Chalobah, Chilwell, Kovacic, loftus-Cheek, Havertz, Sterling, Mount, Aubameyang.

    Subs: Mendy, Azpilicueta, Koulibaly, Jorginho, Zakaria, Gallagher, Chukwuemeka, Pulisic, Broja.
