The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured their second consecutive win in the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers after beating Sao Tome and Principe 10 goals to nil in Agadir, Morocco on Monday.
Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen opened scoring for the Eagles nine minutes into the game, before Moses Simon doubled the three-time African champions’ lead in the 28th minute through an assist from Osimhen.
Lorient forward, Terem Moffi added another goal to make it 0-3 for the Nigerians just before the halftime whistle.
The Super Eagles continued to dominate the game in the second-half with Victor Osimhen bagging three more goals and Moffi completing his brace.
Peter Etebo, Ademola Lookman and Emmanuel Dennis (penalty) added a goal each to extend Nigeria’s comfortable away lead to 10-0.
The Jose Peseiro‘s men came into the game from a narrow 2-1 victory over the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in matchday one of the AFCON qualifiers after losing to Mexico and Ecuador in friendly matches played in the United States of America (USA).
The Super Eagles will now take on Guinea-Bissau on 19th September, 2022 in matchday three of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
