The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has revealed the station will broadcast all the 52 matches of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
NTA confirmed this in a post on X on Wednesday morning.
It read: “Newsflash: NTA signs memorandum of understanding with Afro Sprots for transmission of 52 matches of Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.”
Nigerians have been worried about how they would watch Super Eagles games at the AFCON.
SuperSport, Africa’s biggest pay TV broadcaster, had said it would not broadcast the tournament.
This is because they have been ‘unable to secure rights for the tournament.’
SuperSport disclosed this in a statement last Wednesday.
However, the 2023 AFCON will also be available on Free To Air (FTA) Channels.
The competition is scheduled for January 13th – February 11th, 2024.
Ivory Coast are the host nation for the 2023 AFCON.
