Super Eagles interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen, has listed 32 players in the provisional squad for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off round against the Black Stars of Ghana.
Eguavoen handed a first call up to former England player, Ademola Lookman, and former U17 World Cup star Akinkunmi Amoo.
Watford midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo, and Rangers’ defender, Leon Balogun returned to the fold of the three –time African champions after recovering from injuries.
Also called up are inform Nigerians forwards Moses Simon, Emmanuel Dennis, Odion Ighalo, Samuel Chukwueze, and Victor Osimhen; defenders William Troost-Ekong Kenneth Omeruo, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Abdullahi Shehu , Zaidu Sanusi, and Ola Aina; midfielders Wifred Ndidi, Frank Onyenka, and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo.
Goalkeepers Maduka Okoye , Francis Uzoho, and Daniel Akpeyi, and captain Ahmed Musa complete the list while forwards Taiwo Awoniyi and Peter Olayinka, defender Chidozie Awaziem and long-time absentee Ogenyi Onazi are in a seven-man standby list.
