Former Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has said President Bola Tinubu inherited a messy economic situation.
He disclosed this while addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday while speaking on the Nation’s challenges.
Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North constituency at the 10th Senate, said Tinubu’s administration inherited a national revenue that can barely serve Nigeria’s debt.
Oshiomhole decried that the debt profile inherited by Nigeria is at an alarming rate.
According to the senator: “The government inherited a terrible economic situation, and everybody knows it.
“The government inherited an economy in which our total national revenue was barely enough to service the debt body spreading 96 per cent; for every N100, Nigeria has 96 per cent going to repaying debt, so you have four kobos left to pay all the salaries.
“Nothing can be worst, but they came determined to address the drift”.
