In a bold statement, Daniel Regha has accused Nigerian pastors of being overly fond of the spotlight. This statement was focused on their tendency to make public prophecies.
This morning, he cited an example, discussing a recent prophecy where Pastor Adeboye talked about his death which has caused concern among his followers and raised questions about the motivations behind such public declarations.
Pastor Adeboye, known for his influential role in the religious community, had previously announced details about his own demise, a revelation that started a lot of conversation.
“Pastor Adeboye prophesying about his death is upsetting. Of what use is such info to the public? He might assume but what if rapture happens before then? Honestly speaking things like these are why people question Christianity.
Nigerian pastors do the mast to be in the spotlight.”
He described a peaceful death which he presumes will happen on a Sunday after enjoying a meal of pounded yam, without suffering from any illness or stress, assuming the rapture doesn’t occur beforehand.
This prophecy was made during the Day 3 of the RCCG Holy Ghost Congress at the Redemption Camp. He shared a story about his uncle who had a similar peaceful passing, reinforcing his belief that one does not need to be ill to ascend to heaven.
Rewinding to 2021, Pastor Adeboye had made a prediction about his lifespan, stating that he would live to be 90 years old, based on a revelation he believed to have received from God. This statement was made during a service at the church’s headquarters, where he advised his congregation not to celebrate his birthday prematurely, hinting at his long life expectancy, assuming the absence of Christ’s return.
However, Pastor Adeboye’s prophecies haven’t always aligned with subsequent events. For instance, his prediction of a more peaceful world in 2023 did not materialize as expected, leading to speculation about the accuracy of his prophecies.
This pattern of inconsistent prophecies among Nigerian pastors was further criticized by Daniel. He expressed frustration over the contradictory nature of their annual prophecies, which often do not come to pass. This inconsistency, Daniel argued, raises serious questions about the source and validity of their revelations and why their prophecies often differ from each other.
