Rohr calls up Vincent Onovo to replace Troost-Ekong ahead of second Cameroon friendly

Super Eagles

Nigerian national team head coach, Gernot Rohr, has called up Ujpest star Vincent Onovo, to replace the injured William Troost-Ekong for the second friendly against Cameroon on Tuesday.

Onovo could now make his international debut for the three-time African champions.

Troost-Ekong picked up an injury in the 1-0 loss to the Indomitable Lions last Friday and has been ruled out of tomorrow’s encounter.

His injury is another blow for Rohr, who has been forced to deal with players withdrawals for the back-back friendly games.

However, Rohr has invited Onovo to make up for Ekong’s absence.

Onovo plays his football in the Hungarian top-flight with Ujpest that finished sixth in the league last season.
