Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi has revealed why his side was defeated 2-1 by Osasuna in the Spanish La Liga.
The loss saw Real Madrid get crowned La Liga champions for the 34th time with 7 points ahead of Barcelona.
According to the Messi, what they displayed on the night describe how their season has been.
“This game reflects what we have been like all season. A very irregular team that lets its head drop too easily,” Messi was quoted by Barcelona’s official website as saying.
“We gifted the first half to an Osasuna team that overpowered us. In the second half, we were better, but it wasn’t enough.”
He added: “I said it before that if we continued playing as we were, it would be difficult to win the Champions League and now it’s clear it wasn’t even enough to win La Liga.
“We have to change a lot because if we don’t, we will lose against Napoli as well. We need a little time to clear our heads and then to think about the Champions League, which starts from zero,” Messi said.
